ASLI Nuggets October 2025

Chairman Note

Dear Participants, Sponsors, and Supporters,

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I thank each one of you for your incredible contribution to the overwhelming success of the 6th ASLI Ageing Fest. Your enthusiasm, commitment, and shared vision were instrumental in shaping an event that not only addressed the dynamic challenges of the senior care sector but also laid a strong foundation for a future defined by innovation, collaboration, and care.

India, already home to the world’s second largest senior population, is at a pivotal point in its demographic evolution. By 2050, the number of seniors is expected to rise to 347 million, representing 21% of the country’s population. The population aged 80+ is projected to grow by around 279% – a much faster growth rate than any other age cohort. This seismic shift brings with it a dual responsibility—to meet the growing needs of our elders and to create sustainable models that empower them to thrive with dignity.

The 6th ASLI Ageing Fest created a powerful platform for government leaders, investors, experts, and changemakers to converge and reimagine how we care for our aging population. Our curated sessions sparked forward-thinking dialogue and action: Fueling the Future – Investments & Impact, Global Best Practices : Revolutionizing Senior Care, Financial Planning – “Safety Nets for Seniors,” Transforming Wellness in Eldercare, Industry Insights- Beyond Affordability: Inspiring the Will to Pay.

Each conversation helped illuminate new pathways, solutions, and possibilities.

A standout highlight this year was the Customer Session, designed with a B2C lens. It brought to the forefront the vital role of awareness in empowerment, challenging us to consider: Are today’s seniors equipped to make informed decisions amidst an ever-growing list of service offerings? The session encouraged independence, clarity, and improved access to healthcare, financial services, and community resources.

My sincere appreciation goes to our Knowledge Partner, PwC India, and Research Partner, JLL India, for their invaluable insights and support. I also extend special thanks to our sponsors —

RTR – Ready to Retire, incubated by Bajaj Capital, Paranjape Schemes, Alphind Healthcare, Bridge Health, Cradle of Life, Heyday by House of Incor and Emoha Eldercare — for their steadfast dedication to reshaping narratives around aging and promoting senior well-being.

The success of this Fest reflects our collective resolve to build not only services but a vibrant, inclusive ecosystem where our elders are celebrated for their strength, wisdom, and contribution. Together, we are not just responding to a demographic shift, we are leading a movement that champions longevity, dignity, and graceful aging.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and partnership. Warm regards,

Rajit Mehta
Chairman,
Association of Senior Living India (ASLI)

Glimpse of 6th ASLI Ageing Fest

Meet Our Esteemed Chief Guest

We sincerely thank Ms. Shanti Ekambaram, Deputy Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank, for sharing her compelling insights on the evolving landscape of senior living and ageing in India.

She emphasized that while senior living is an established concept globally, India is now witnessing its emergence as a growing movement. Ms. Ekambaram highlighted four key pillars of ageing with dignity — physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being — and urged industries to innovate across each dimension. She stressed the importance of strong community ecosystems, financial preparedness, and mental engagement for seniors to lead fulfilling lives. With increasing longevity and changing family dynamics, she noted that senior living is poised to become a mainstream social and economic priority. Her vision beautifully underscored that ageing is not a retreat, but a stage to live with purpose, independence, and joy.
