WHO looks for treatment for epidemic of loneliness

How to mitigate loneliness, a growing public health problem that is silently taking epidemic proportions? Aiming to find answers, the World Health Organisation has recently formed a technical advisory committee and it is now scouting for experts to assist them in this process.

The experts will help the UN health agency to identify mechanisms that can be used to reposition the issue as a genuine global public health problem.

They will also help in mapping and identification of effective interventions to promote social connection and reduce social isolation and loneliness that can be the basis for scaling up interventions in countries.
